General Member Meeting | Human Trafficking Justice
Time & Location
About The Event
Our general member meetings occur the 2nd Thursday of each month in the event space at Union 32 Craft Tap in Eagan, MN. The meeting starts at 7pm, but folks often gather at 6:30pm for food and drinks before the meeting.
Each meeting covers a different topic. Since January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, we’ve invited co-chair of the District 5960 Ending Human Trafficking in MN, Emmia Nazarinia, to share more about what Rotary is doing to fight human trafficking and how we can be involved.
More on the topic....
Human trafficking—sexual exploitation, in particular—has been reported in all 87 counties of Minnesota. Some form of it most likely exists in most of our towns and cities. Rotary districts that encompass Minnesota/Western Wisconsin/North Dakota and part of Manitoba have begun the task to focus on awareness, education, and prevention of human trafficking. We are speaking at Rotary clubs to raise awareness and give each club tools by which they can raise awareness, educate and prevent it in their own communities.
Co-chair of the Dist. 5960 Ending Human Trafficking in MN, Emmia Nazarinia from the St Paul Rotary Club, attends numerous seminars, plays and film screenings to gain an understanding of the breadth of the problem and speaks at Rotary clubs and other organizations to raise awareness and spark action to end human trafficking in MN.
